According to Iran's Health Ministry spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari, 8,308 new cases were tested positive for COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, IRNA reported.
Out of the 8,308 new positive cases, 716 patients have been hospitalized, Larid added.
She noted that the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 in the country has reached 1,723,470 after the detection of the 8,308 new cases.
According to Lari, 1,471,179 patients out of the total of 1,723,470 infected cases have recovered or been discharged from hospitals.
Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 3,818 patients are in critical condition and being treated in intensive care units, the spokeswoman said.
