COVID claims 89 lives in Iran over 24 hours

Iran's Health Ministry announced that 89 COVID-19 patients have lost their lives from Wednesday to Thursday, bringing the total death toll to 61,581.

According to the Ministry’s spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari, during the past 24 hours, 7,530 newly diagnosed patients with COVID-19 were identified out of whom 673 patients were hospitalized, iranpress.com reported.

She added that so far, 1,778,645 people in the country had been infected with the coronavirus, and 1,521,377 recovered.

Lari noted that 3,866 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition.

She said that 11,976,428 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted across the country so far.

According to the latest analysis, 9 cities are classified as red zones, 31 as orange, 259 as yellow, and 113 as blue zones in Iran.
