COVID-19 kills 73 Iranians over past 24 hours

Iran's Health Ministry announced that 73 COVID-19 patients have lost their lives from Saturday to Sunday, mounting the total death toll to 61,797.

According to the Ministry’s spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari, during the past 24 hours, 7,260 newly diagnosed patients with COVID-19 were identified and 657 of them were hospitalized, IRNA reported.

She added that so far, 1,801,065 people in the country had been infected with the coronavirus, and 1,543,119 recovered.

Lari noted that 3,858 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition.

She added, so far, more than over 12.1 million tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases.
