Iran reports over 10,000 new coronavirus cases

Iran reported 10,250 new coronavirus cases from Monday to Tuesday, bringing the total number of new cases to 1,875,234.

According to the Health Ministry spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari, 91 more COVID-19 infected patients lost their lives in the country in the past 24 hours, putting the total death toll at 62,569, IRNA reported.

Speaking at her daily briefing, Lari added that 1,039 out of the total 10,250 newly diagnosed patients with COVID-19 were hospitalized in Iran.

She also said that 1,608,807 patients out of a total of 1,875,234 infected people have recovered or been discharged from hospitals.

Lari further noted that 3,953 other COVID-19 patients are in critical condition.

She added, so far, some 12,751,397 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases.

According to the latest analysis, 25 cities are classified as red zones, and 56 others as orange in Iran.

Since its outbreak, the COVID-19 pandemic has infected over 127 million people across the world, of whom over 2,800,000 people have lost their lives.
