Iran marks the National Nuclear Technology Day on Saturday in a ceremony attended by President Hassan Rouhani that features an exhibition of national achievements in the field.
Although the occasion is annually marked on April 9 this year, it is marked a day later as the original date has fallen on the weekend.
Commenting on the day in a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Rouhani said new nuclear achievements will be unveiled on the occasion to let people know about the measures implemented in this field during the past Iranian calendar year, which ended on March 20, according to mfa.gov.ir.
He added tens of new projects will be inaugurated on the day.
Commenting on the occasion on Wednesday, Ali-Akbar Salehi, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), announced that Iran is to unveil new achievements in the field of radiopharmacology as part of the exhibition that will mark the upcoming National Nuclear Technology Day, Press TV reported.
The occasion will be marked on Saturday, when as many as 133 achievements are to be displayed at the exhibition, Salehi said.
On Thursday, AEOI spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi unveiled plans to produce 40 tons of yellowcake in the country in the current Iranian year, according to Tasnim News Agency.
He said Iran has registered the average annual production of four tons of yellowcake during the past 15 years, adding the figure reached 37 tons in the previous year.
The AEOI has set a production target of 40 tons of yellowcake this year, the spokesman added.
