Iranian film ‘Careless Crime,’ directed by Shahram Mokri, will be screened at two festivals in Belgium and South Korea.

According to ISNA, the Mooov Filmfestival, one of the oldest European festivals that has been held every year in Bruges, Belgium since 1984, will host ‘Careless Crime’ in its 2021 edition (April 20-May 3), IRNA wrote.

In addition, the 22nd edition of the Jeonju International Film Festival in South Korea, slated for April 29-May 8 will screen the Iranian film. It will be displayed in the World Cinema section along with 11 films from France, Brazil, Italy, Japan and the United States.

The 135-minute movie was internationally premiered at the Orizzonti section of the 77th Venice Film Festival in Italy.

The movie narrates the story of an audience that starts talking before the movie begins and, finally, their story turns out to be the same as what happens in the movie.

Produced by Negar Eskanadarfar and Karnameh Institute of Arts and Culture, the film is starring Babak Karimi, Razieh Mansouri and Abolfazl Kahani.

The film has won several prizes including the Silver Hugo award from the 56th Chicago International Film Festival, Best Original Screenplay Award at the 77th Venice Film Festival, Best Screenplay Award and Best Documentary Award at the 19th Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh.

Dreamlab Films, the France-based international distributor under Iranian film expert Nasrin Mirshab, acquired the international distribution rights to ‘Careless Crime’.
