Shahnameh exhibition marks Children's Day

An exhibition on 'Shahnameh', a magnum opus by the great Persian poet Abolqassem Ferdowsi, will be held in Tehran to mark the National Children's Day (Oct. 8).

Titled 'Shahnameh for Children', the exhibition will be held on Friday to familiarize the children with Persian literature and to protect working children.

Paintings themed on Shahnameh will be put on sale and the proceeds will be donated to the campaign against child labor.

The Shahnameh (The Book of Kings) is an epic poem written by the Persian poet Ferdowsi between c. 977 and 1010 CE and is the national epic of Greater Iran.

The one-day exhibition will be held at the gallery of Dafineh Building in Mirdamad Avenue, next to Bank Sina in Tehran.
