Chief commander appreciates Leader’s kind message on National Army Day

The chief commander of Iran’s Army appreciated the kind message by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on the occasion of National Army Day (April 18), saying the forces under his command will do their utmost to increase their capabilities by as much a needed.

Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi said that National Army Day is a blessed reminder of the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini and a fruit of “your support for the army at a tough time when the foreign enemy and ignorant elements in the country” are trying to dissolve the forces, according to

Addressed to Major General Mousavi, Ayatollah Khamenei issued a message ahead of National Army Day, calling on the military to strengthen its preparedness as much as needed, according to Press TV.

“Send my greetings to all the dear army personnel and their honorable families. Today, the army is present on the scene and stands ready to carry out its mission. keep increasing the readiness as much as needed and play a role [in this regard],” the message read.

Major General Mousavi added, “With your paternal kindness and attention”, years of honest service by its staff have helped the Iranian Army survive tough passages and achieve a high level of power and insight.”

He added the Leader’s message filled the Iranian Army staff with great happiness.

Major General Mousavi gave the assurance that under the Leader’s prudent leadership, the Iranian Army is always present on the scene and ready to carry out any mission.

National Army Day was included in the Iranian calendar after a historic letter from Ayatollah Khomeini in 1979, in which he voiced his strong support for Iran’s Army and ordered its troops to hold nationwide parades annually on April 18.

This year, the army decided to hold parades with vehicles and display its latest achievements on trucks in celebration of Army Day to prevent any public gathering in order to contain the spread of the coronavirus, Tasnim News Agency reported.
