The agreement was signed by Deputy Governor General for Economic Affairs of Iranian Province of Sistan and Baluchestan Mandana Zanganeh and the Deputy Governor of Afghanistan’s Province of Nimruz Abdolnabi Barahooei in the country’s city of Zaranj, IRNA reported.
Improving the livelihoods of border residents of both sides is one of the most important effects of the cooperation of Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan Province and Afghanistan’s Nimruz Province, Zanganeh stressed.
Zanganeh added that joint border markets can also be established for residents and villagers.
She noted that joint meetings will help facilitate transportation at the borders.
Governor of Nimruz Province Zmaryalai Ahadi, who was also present in the meeting, said he is keen to cooperate on border issues.
