The unique and indispensable role of the hardworking and dear Iranian workers in boosting domestic production, particularly, at a time when the country has concurrently been under US unilateral sanctions and fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, has become evident to everyone more than ever.
The remark was made by Iran’s First Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri in an Instagram post on the occasion of the International Workers’ Day (May 1), also known as the Labor Day, IRNA reported.
He added the Iranian government has done its best to reduce the livelihood problems of the country’s working class, acknowledging, “I know we have not been adequately successful in this regard. They have the right to be complaining.”
Jahangiri expressed hope that the government would manage to better carry out its responsibility toward the country’s workers once the economic conditions improved.
Also, in a post on his Instagram page on the same occasion on Saturday, Mahmoud Vaezi, the Iranian president’s chief of staff, said workers are the beating heart of the domestic economy, be it in the field of industry or agriculture and services sectors.
“It is our duty to commemorate and appreciate the honorable and hardworking working class,” he wrote.
