Iran’s Hamed Solhipour and Rouhollah Rostami bagged a couple of gold medals at the World Para Powerlifting World Cup in Bangkok, the capital Thailand.

On Saturday, Solhipour, a two-time world gold medalist, lifted 229kg in his second attempt for a top-spot finish in the -97kg weight class.

Rostami, meanwhile, set a new world record of 241kg on his way to the -80kg gold on the preceding night.

The double triumphs took Iran’s gold count to three as Amir Ja’fari had also finished his campaign atop the men’s -65kg category.

Nader Moradi had also grabbed a silver at the -72kg category with 204kg.
