Industrial projects launched in Tehran Province

Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Alireza Razm-Hosseini inaugurated several industrial projects on Saturday during a visit to the southeast of Tehran Province

Razm-Hosseini officially inaugurated textile, oil and protein production units, according to IRNA.

A wood factory was among the projects, whose products are used in the field of building facades and cabinets.

The total amount of investment in the factory was 100 billion rials plus €6 million.

The minister also visited the Kharazmi Industrial Zone in Pakdasht County and inaugurated a development project of Mahya Protein plant.

The unit is active in the production, processing and packaging of protein products and has an annual production capacity of 113,000 tons of chicken, beef, fish, and nuggets.

It was built in an area measuring 16,800 square meters and has created jobs for about 1,400 people.

In recent years, the Iranian government has been following a strategy for supporting domestic production to neutralize the impacts of the US sanctions while reducing the reliance of the economy on oil revenues.

In December 2020, Razm-Hosseini inaugurated five industrial projects worth about $45.7 million in the field of home appliances in central province of Isfahan.

They included development of production lines for various home appliances including TVs, refrigerators and washing machines.

The projects will save the country about €9.5 million every year and create direct job opportunities for over 3,770 people.
