COVID-19 claims 366 more lives in Iran over past 24 hours

Iran's Health Ministry announced that the number of deaths from the coronavirus pandemic in the country exceeded 75,934 with 366 more Iranians who died from the deadly disease from Tuesday to Wednesday.

Releasing a statement, the ministry said that 16,409 new cases of infection with the COVID-19 were detected across the country over the past 24 hours, and 2,252 of them were hospitalized, IRNA reported.

It noted that 2,162,087 patients out of a total of 2,707,761 infected people have so far recovered or been discharged from hospitals.

Among those currently being treated in the country’s medical centers, 5,501 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition, added the statement

It further noted that 17,480,333 coronavirus diagnostic tests have so far been carried out across the country.

So far, 1,623,279 people have received the first dose of the COVID vaccine, and 319,793 people have received the second dose, and the total number of vaccines injected in the country reached 1,943,072 doses.

According to the latest analysis, 46 cities are red, 263 are orange, and 139 are yellow zones.
