Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami hailed the elevated unity of all Palestinians as a major achievement of their recent victory over Israel, saying Palestine’s missiles, drones and military gear have become a nightmare for the Zionist regime.

Speaking at an online meeting of the Defense Ministry’s high-ranking officials on Sunday, General Hatami said the most important achievement of the victory against Israel in the recent 11-day war was closer unity and rapport among all Palestinians in Gaza and across the occupied territories in the face of the Israeli regime and its Western supporters.

“From now on, the missiles, drones and defense capabilities of the owners of Palestine will be a nightmare for the usurper Zionist settlers,” the minister said, Tasnim reported.

Israel launched a bloody bombing campaign on the densely-populated Gaza on May 10 after harassment of Palestinians in Al-Quds and attempts to steal their lands in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of the city.

Over 250 Palestinians, including about 70 children, were killed in the Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip during 11 days of the conflict. Israel’s airstrikes also inflicted widespread devastation on the already impoverished territory, Press TV wrote.

In response to the Israeli bloodshed, the Gaza-based resistance groups fired more than 4,000 rockets into the occupied territories, some reaching as far as Tel Aviv and even Haifa and Nazareth to the north.

Israel was eventually forced to announce a cease-fire, brokered by Egypt, which came into force in the early hours of May 21.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Hatami urged caution against hostile attempts at undermining Iran’s resistance, misrepresenting the Islamic Republic’s achievements, and disrupting the Iranian nation’s social cohesion, saying the enemy is aware that the strong Iran is now the source of major developments at the regional and international levels.
