Iranian feature film ‘6.5 per Meter,’ directed by Saeed Roustaee, won Grand Prix and the Special Jury Award at the 36th Reims Polar festival in France.
The 36th edition of the International Detective Film Festival already titled Reims Polar was held from May 26-30 in Beaune, France, IRNA wrote.
The Reims Polar festival hosts thriller and detective films from around the world.
Roustaee’s film is a social drama that deals with the issue of illegal drug trade and trafficking.
Payman Maadi, Navid Mohammadzadeh, Parinaz Izadyar, Houman Kiaee, Farhad Aslani, Marjan Qamari, and Mohammad-Ali Mohammadi are on the cast list.
Premiered at the 37th Fajr Film Festival in Iran, the film was screened at several global events, including the 76th Venice Film Festival in Italy, the 35th Warsaw Film Festival in Poland, the 2019 Chicago International Film Festival in the US, the 43rd Sao Paulo International Film Festival in Brazil, the 50th International Film Festival of India, and the 60th Thessaloniki International Film Festival in Greece.
It won several international awards including the Best Director and the Best Actor awards from Tokyo International Film Festival and the Grand Prix of the International Independent Film Festival of Bordeaux in France.
‘6.5 per Meter,’ also opened the 15th Zurich Film Festival in Switzerland, where it won a special mention.
