The ministry added that 186 cities are orange while 119 cities are classified as yellow, according to IRNA.
The ministry said that 146 people lost their lives to the COVID-19 from Thursday to Friday, bringing the total death toll to 85,543.
It also put the total number of new COVID-19 cases at 3,344,122 after 16, 596 people tested positive to the virus in a 24-hour period.
According to the Health Ministry, Iran has so far vaccinated 6,658,695 people, using both foreign and domestic vaccines.
On Wednesday, Iran finally included homegrown COVIran Barekat vaccine in its inoculation program against the coronavirus, according to Press TV.
The jab has proven to be effective against variants of the disease, allowing the ministry to approve it for emergency use.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei received a first dose of the jab last month.
The vaccine was officially rolled out for public injections in several provinces on Wednesday using a supply of 800,000 jabs.
Iran has relied on foreign supplies for more than six million vaccinations carried out in the country since December.
Authorities have blamed the slow pace of vaccinations on US sanctions, saying the bans on banking transactions have hampered Iran’s access to foreign supplies of vaccines.
