Three Iranian films will compete at the 8th Fresco International Festival of Modern Art and Spiritual Films, slated to be held in Armenia from August 20 to 29.

‘The Kids,’ directed by Amir Daryani, ‘Take a Nap,’ directed by Mina Qassemi-Nia, and ‘The Land of Ants,’ directed by Issa Babai will represent Iranian cinema at the Armenian festival, ISNA reported.

‘The Kids’ is the story of a sister and brother who decide to separate due to the conditions of their home and their own behavioral disorders.

‘Take a Nap’ has already participated in the Sedicicorto International Film Festival, which ran in the Italian city of Forli from October 4 to 13, 2019.

Babai’s film was previously nominated for the Best Cinematography Award at the Grand Off World Independent Film Awards, which was held in Warsaw, Poland in November 2020.

Fresco festival is an annual event which is a great opportunity for the reassessment of spiritual and cultural heritage, cultural dialogue with people of other countries, self-knowledge and raising national consciousness in this context.
