Iran’s Navy fleet to take part in Russia’s Navy Day parades

A fleet of vessels of the Iranian Navy is scheduled to participate in Russia's Navy Day parades in Saint Petersburg on July 25.

The Iranian Embassy in Moscow announced on Monday that Iran's Navy Commander Rear-Admiral Hossein Khanzadi will be heading a military delegation to Saint Petersburg to attend Russia’s Navy Day celebrations along with the Iranian Ambassador in Moscow Kazem Jalali, IRNA reported.

The Iranian Navy commander is also to hold separate meetings with his counterparts and senior military officials from other participating countries on the sidelines of the celebrations. 

Earlier in the day, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that 54 warships and other military vessels from a number of countries, including Iran, India and Pakistan, will participate in the parades.

The naval parade is to honor of the 325th anniversary of the Russian fleet will be held on the Neva River in St. Petersburg, northwest of Russia, on Sunday, Mehr News Agency wrote.
