The inauguration ceremony for President-elect Ebrahim Raisi will be held on August 5 at Iran’s Parliament.
According to Mohammad Mohseni Bandpey, a member of the Parliament, the country’s legislative body decided on Wednesday that the president-elect’s swearing-in ceremony to be held at 05:00 p.m. local time (1230 GMT) on Thursday, August 5.
He also said that representatives of 50 world countries will participate in the ceremony.
The MP added that Iran’s Parliament will not convene next week.
Raeisi, 60, won presidential elections garnering almost 62 percent of the votes with a turnout of 48.8 percent. He will succeed President Hassan Rouhani, who served for two four years terms.
