Shahid Chamran Public Library in Iran’s capital Tehran will open on Wednesday as Iran’s first public library dedicated to fiction, with the presence of Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Abbas Salehi.
Director of Iran Public Libraries Foundation (IPLF) Alireza Mokhtarpour will also attend the opening ceremony, IRNA wrote.
The purpose of launching the library is to highlight Iran’s rich fiction and to provide better services and create an appropriate study platform to advance the goals of the public libraries of the country, ISNA wrote.
The library has 26,000 book titles, among which over 13,000 are in the field of fiction.
The library will provide services to the public after restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus in the country are eased.
