Iran’s COVID claims 434 more lives over 24 hours

Iran's Health Ministry announced that COVID-19 took 434 more lives across the country from Wednesday to Thursday, bringing the total death number to 92,628.

According to the latest data, the total number of COVID-19 patients reached 4,057,758 since the beginning of the outbreak in the country in late February 2020, of which 3,467,765 cases have either recovered or been discharged from hospitals.

The newly diagnosed patients with COVID-19 were 38,674 cases, of whom 4,519 patients have been hospitalized.

According to the Health Ministry, 6,170 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition.

It added that 26,236,676 COVID-19 diagnostic tests have so far been conducted across the country.

Latest figures showed that 285 cities are in red (very high-risk), 110 in orange (high-risk), and 53 in yellow (medium-risk) zones.

So far, 11,504,995 people have received the first dose of the COVID vaccine, 2,933,866 people have received the second dose, and the total number of vaccines injected in the country reached 14,438,861 doses.
