Iranian Director Navid Nikkhah Azad and his movie, The Recess, received the Award of Excellence in the short film category at the 12th IndieFEST Film Awards in the United States.

The short film has already participated in various foreign festivals, including the Izmir International Short Film Festival and the Festival de Cine Chileno de Quilpué, reported on Friday.

The Recess is the story of a 17-year-old school-girl who runs away from school to watch the football match of her beloved club.

Sahar, along with three of her friends, is planning to exit the school during the break in order to watch the match between Esteghlal FC and Al Ain FC at Azadi Sports Complex.
