The Foreign Ministry’s special headquarters for COVID-19 vaccine imports has called on all Iranian ambassadors abroad to use their entire capacities for buying reliable jabs and sending them to the country.
This directive was issued in the second meeting of the headquarters, which was headed by Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and attended by the ministry’s deputies and director generals, IRNA reported.
It was stressed that the quality of the imported vaccines must be approved by the Health Ministry.
Earlier, Iran’s FM said the special headquarters was set up to accelerate the provision of COVID-19 vaccines from any country whose standards are approved by Iran’s Health Ministry, according to Press TV.
Amir-Abdollahian added he will put the issue of curbing the pandemic on top of his agenda at the ministry.
He gave the assurance that the Foreign Ministry will do its best to import vaccines without any limitation from any country whose vaccines can be transferred Iran and whose scientific standards are confirmed by the Health Ministry.
He said that the headquarters’ goal is to activate the potential of all Iranian embassies and the country’s capacities abroad, both in the public and private sectors, to expedite the imports.
