Iran’s well-known vocalist Alireza Qorbani and Azerbaijan’s Alim Qasimov will hold a joint concert at the 18th International İstanbul Music Festival in the Turkish city of Konya on September 30.
Qorbani announced the news on his Instagram page, Mehr News Agency reported.
Other artists from Iran and Azerbaijan will accompany Qorbani and Qasimov at the concert.
Last year, both artists released a single track called ‘Rababi’ which was based on a poem by the great Iranian poet Rumi. The music composition was presented in both Persian and Azerbaijani languages.
Qorbani became a foremost singer at the age of 30. His very ramified repertory constitutes the radif (a certain arraying of melodic structures exerting a special priority, a kind of logic and aesthetics, declaring a cultivated vision towards music) and the tasnif (a form of Persian music which can be considered the Persian equivalent of the ballad), whose rarest vocal techniques are very well controlled. He presents his works in a small group of four musicians, as well as with the National Orchestra of Iran.
