The first edition of the International ‘Hope Puppet/Doll’ Festival kicked off in the Iranian capital Tehran on Saturday.
The event will run through December 11 at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Tehran, IRNA reported.
The festival’s secretary, Poupak Azimpour Tabrizi, called for all doll-making enthusiasts and artists to present their ideas at the inaugural event.
The festival seeks to “celebrate hope, love, and happiness alongside children and youth in a world created in the post-COVID era,” Azimpour said.
Under the motto, ‘Create Puppet to Germinate Hope,’ the festival features four categories comprising dolls, performance puppets, indigenous dolls, and puppets made of special objects.
