Iran-Germany Energy Working Committee meets online

The third meeting of the Iran-Germany Energy Working Committee, was held online on Tuesday, said Hossein Esmaili, the director-general of Europe, US and Caspian Neighbors Office of the International Affairs and Trade Department of Iran’s Ministry of Petroleum.

Considering Germany's membership in the European Union, the Energy Working Committee can play an effective role in expanding relations with other European countries and provide a good basis for cooperation with EU members, Shana quoted him saying.

“Renewable energies, increasing efficiency and productivity, as well as reducing energy intensity, transferring new technologies and the cooperation of the German public and private sectors with Iranian ministries of petroleum and energy and their affiliates were the most important topics discussed at the meeting.”

Representatives of BMWI, GIZ, Dena, German Ministry of Economy and Energy and the representative of the German Embassy in Tehran, as well as the representatives of Iran’s Presidential Transformation and Development Cooperation Center, Ministry of Petroleum, Ministry of Energy, SATBA and Fuel Consumption Optimization Company examined ways of cooperation between the two countries, he said.

“It was decided that the delegations of the two sides, within the framework of the agreements reached, follow up on the issues discussed and plan to hold the fourth energy committee,” he added.

The German delegation was chaired by Ursula Borak, deputy director-general for international energy of the German Ministry of Economy and Energy.
