A wood museum will be launched in the city of Kermanshah, capital of western province of Kermanshah, within the next three months, said the head of museums and historical and cultural moveable properties of the province.
Akram Tahmasebi said that the museum will be established in collaboration with the private sector and craftspeople from the province, according to IRNA.
In the first phase, the museum will display 80 wooden installations made by prominent provincial artist Alireza Bavandpour, who holds seven national medals.
Bavandpour has also received international medals from Kenya, Austria and other countries.
There are notable artists working with wood in Kermanshah who are well-known throughout the country and abroad, the official added.
Establishing a wood museum in this province is an opportunity for the entire population to become familiar with the artists in this field, she noted.
