A cultural night was held at Jazireh Cultural Center in Kuvei Village on Iran’s southern Qeshm Island on Friday night with 110 individuals in attendance, a local cultural official announced.

Hamed Biazar added that nearly 50 artists in the field of handicrafts and local food displayed their products, according to IRNA.

In addition, more than 40 local artists in the field of poetry, painting, handicrafts, choir group, and mourning group presented their works to the audience on this cultural night, Biazar noted.

Sales exhibits and workshops on indigenous handicrafts, souvenirs, garments, as well as live performances of traditional music and local games were also parts of the event, he said.

One of the main objectives of the event was to provide people with an overview of Qeshm Island, including tourist information on sightseeing, accommodations and hotels, he noted.

Qeshm Island is a heaven for eco-tourists as it embraces wide-ranging attractions such as the Hara marine forests and about 60 villages dotted mostly across its rocky coastline.

The island also features geologically eye-catching canyons, hills, caves, and valleys, most of which are protected as part of the UNESCO-tagged Qeshm Island Geopark.
