All the prerequisites to holding the 27th International Children & Youth Theater Festival in Iran’s northwestern province of Hamedan have been fulfilled, a provincial official said.
Ahmadreza Ehsani made the statement at a meeting on necessary cooperation for the festival.
Bu Ali Sina Hall and Martyr Avini Hall received the necessary refurbishments, while Martyr Mazaheri Hall was added to the province’s capacities for hosting the event, he added.
He said the quality of the upcoming edition of the festival needs to be higher than the previous editions.
A section titled, ‘Theater with Performances by Children and Adolescents under 18’ was added to the 27th edition of the festival.
This section will provide an opportunity to see and evaluate the activities of teachers, professors, children and adolescents who make theatrical productions, IRNA wrote.
All dramatic arts produced in the past two years can participate in this section of the festival.
The 27th edition of the festival will be held in March.
The 26th edition of the festival was held under the supervision of Majid Qannad, with the participation of 52 plays from 13 provinces of Iran and seven other countries.
In July, an agreement was signed between Hamedan’s office of the governor general and Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance to hold the festival in the province for three years.
