He announced the organization’s readiness to cooperate in various fields of cultural studies, exhibitions, research, as well as hosting the Chinese Cultural Committee in Tehran.

Shifting to the translation of books from Chinese into Persian and vice versa, he said the agreement on this issue is a good idea that can lead to more familiarity of two nations with each other.

“We can hold joint meetings and implement joint programs in the fields of fighting against Islamophobia, Iranophobia and Sinophobia, and we are interested in using the potentials of the Chinese elites in these cases,” he added.

Imanipour said, “The development of cultural cooperation with China is a priority and we are keen to establish a center for Chinese studies in some scientific and cultural centers of Iran.”

Hua, pointing to the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Iran-China diplomatic relations, said it seems this year is a special and different year and both countries should plan for the development of cultural relations.

The Chinese envoy added that “cooperation and interactions between the two countries have expanded considerably in the last 50 years, and we hope bilateral cooperation, especially in the field of arts and culture will be developed further.”

He referred to the visit of the former head of ICRO to China in 2012 and the holding of a joint cultural committee and said unfortunately, only one meeting of this joint cultural commission body was held since then, which we hope due to breakout of the coronavirus, its second meeting will be held virtually.
