Iranian animation ‘Sky Sun, Tile Sun’ to vie at US festival

Iranian animation ‘Sky Sun, Tile Sun’ is to compete at the Los Angeles International Children’s Film Festival (LAICFF) in the US.

The has been selected to compete at the 16th edition of the Los Angeles filmfest.

Directed by Ziba Arzhang, the six-minute animation is about a city painted on a tile that undergoes intense explosion and bombardment, reported.

Due to the incident, the Sun breaks into many pieces and the city gets dark. But the people build a new sun together.

The Iranian animation has participated in several international film festivals, including the international film festival for children and young people (Anifest Rozafa) in Albania, the LAMPA – international festival of short films, social video, and advertising in Russia, the International Film Festival Golden Beggar in Slovakia, the Florida International Animation Festival and the Fine Arts Film Festival in the US, the River Film Festival in Italy, and the Washington D.C. International Film Festival in the US.

The LAICFF is an annual festival featuring short live-action, animation, and documentaries for toddlers through teens.

Every year, the festival hosts almost 100 shorts from around the world.

The 2022 edition of the event is scheduled for April 1-May 31.
