According to the WSA report, China topped the list of crude steel producers in 2021 with 1.032 billion tons.
Based on the report, the second to ninth places went to India, Japan, the US, Russia, South Korea, Germany, Turkey and Brazil with 118.1 million tons, 96.3 million tons, 86 million tons, 76 million tons, 70.6 million tons, 40.4 million tons, 40.1 million tons and 36 million tons, respectively.
World crude steel production reached 1.911 billion tons for 2021 — up 3.6 percent compared to the amount for 2020, which was 1.844 billion tons.
According to WSA statistics, Iranian steel mills cast 15.1 million tons of crude steel in December 2021, marking 2.8 percent of rise compared to corresponding figure of 2020 which was 14.7 million tons.
Global output for December 2021 hit 158.7 million tons, showing three percent of drop compared to related output of 2020, 163.6 million tons.
According to the Islamic Republic's Vision Plan, the country's total steel production capacity is to hit 55 million tons a year by 2025, with exports figure expected to reach 10-15 million tons.
