The Iranian ambassador to Doha highlighted the importance of a Tuesday night phone conversation between Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and his Qatari counterpart, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.

The two foreign ministers discussed bilateral cooperation to ensure peace and stability in the region, according to Tasnim News Agency.
Exchanging views on the latest regional developments, the two top diplomats also called for continued consultations between Tehran and Doha to ensure and protect peace and stability at the regional and international levels.
They stressed the need to further promote use of diplomacy and encourage dialogue in efforts to resolve various issues.
Amir-Abdollahian and Al Thani also discussed ways to enhance mutual political, economic and cultural cooperation.
During a visit to Doha earlier in January, the Iranian foreign minister expressed the country’s readiness for closer interactions with regional countries within the framework of implementing bilateral and multilateral plans.
In a meeting, Amir-Abdollahian and Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani discussed the course of developments in the Vienna talks on the revival of a 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and the world powers as well as the termination of the sanctions on Iran and issues relating to Afghanistan and Yemen.
