Iran’s Defense Ministry unveiled two important homemade medical devices on Wednesday.
Comprising an automated external defibrillator and knee joint prosthesis, produced by Iran Electronics Industries – a Defense Ministry subsidiary, the devices were unveiled by Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammadreza Ashtiani in a ceremony during an exhibition of homemade electronic and microelectronic devices in Tehran, IRNA reported.
In an address to the ceremony, the defense minister said the expo has been held based on the emphasis by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on supporting domestic production, with the aim of “neutralizing the sanctions”, and supplying the defense electronics sector’s essential and sensitive devices and spare parts.
He added that 231 key and sensitive parts, produced by the Defense Ministry experts, have been unveiled during the exhibition, noting that manufacturing the items in the country has helped save $94 million in foreign currency reserves.
Brigadier General Ashtiani stressed that the sanctions and pressures of the global arrogance and hegemonic system will never be able to impede Iran’s progress and efforts, giving the assurance that “we will continue the path of progress with greater momentum to promote the causes of the Islamic Establishment and achieve its goals and make the honorable people of the country proud”.
