Iran, Qatar to increase flights

Tehran and Doha have decided to increase the number of passenger and cargo flights between the two countries, an official said.

Head of the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran Mohammad Mohammadi-Bakhsh announced the development of mutual cooperation between Iran and Qatar in the aviation industry by increasing the number of flights from Iranian cities to Doha, reported Fars News Agency.

Referring to the recent meetings held between Iranian and Qatari officials, he said that the two sides emphasized the development of mutual cooperation and the increase of passenger and cargo flights between the two countries, especially in 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Mohammadi Bakhsh said that in the meeting held between the Iranian president and the Emir of Qatar, the use of Iranian airports, including Kish, for the World Cup was discussed.

Last week, Iran and Qatar inked four agreements in the transit, shipping and air transportation.

The agreements were signed during a meeting between Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Rostam Qassemi and his Qatari counterpart.

Qassemi discussed establishing regular shipping lines and transit transportation, as well as increasing flights between Iran and Qatar with his Qatari counterpart.
