Iran reports 22 deaths from COVID-19, 608 new cases

Iran’s Health Ministry on Saturday reported 22 deaths from COVID-19, bringing the total death toll to 140,952.

The total number of people who have tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran reached 7,215,512 following the detection of 608 new cases from Friday to Saturday, according to IRNA.

More than 140 of those affected by the disease have been admitted to the hospital, the ministry added.

At least 6,963,991 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran.

Over 64. 25 million Iranians have so far received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, over 57.45 million have received the second dosage, and more than 26.88 million have gotten the booster shots.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 508 million and the death toll has exceeded 6.24 million.
