French outside hitter Earvin N'Gapeth is among the world-class quadruple to represent Iranian side Paykan at the upcoming Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship.

The Frenchman will be joined by his Dutch teammate at the Italian club Modena Volley, Nimir Abdel-Aziz, as well as Iranian duo Saeed Marouf and Seyyed Mohammad Mousavi.

Paykan made the official announcement of signing the four on Friday.

N'Gapeth and Abdel-Azizs short-term deals for the competition come as a result of a sisterhood pact between Paykan and the Italian outfit.

The seven-day Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship will kick off on May 14 in Tehran, capital of Iran, where Paykan will be looking for a record-extending seventh title, and a first since 2011.

A trophy-laden career has seen 31-year-old N'Gapeth win the FIVB World League – now replaced by the Volleyball Nations League – in 2015 and 2017.

The top-notch Frenchman was also an essential figure in leading his country to the gold medal at last years Tokyo Olympics.

Abdel-Aziz has also enjoyed an illustrious career in his own right, winning the European League with the Netherlands in 2012, while picking up the individual awards for Best Server at the event, and Best Opposite Spiker at the CEV European Championship last year.

Spectators in Tehran will also have the chance to watch two of the pillars of the Iranian volleyball over the past decade, Marouf and Mousavi.

The two ex-Paykan players finished the recently-finished Turkish league with Fenerbahce.

Marouf, regarded as one of the best setters in the world in recent years, announced his retirement from international duty following a disappointing campaign at the Tokyo Olympics, which finished with an exit at the group phase for Iran.

Mousavi, who last appeared in the Iranian outfit at the Olympics, is yet to receive a call-up under new head coach Behrouz Ataei.

Also representing Iran at the Asian club meet is Shahdab Yazd, which on Saturday announced the signing of Canadian outside hitter John Gordon Perrin.
