The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the German Red Cross in the fields of relief training and volunteering services.

Vice President of the German Red Cross Volkmar Schön met with IRCS Secretary General Yaqoub Soleimani on Saturday at the Iranian society’s headquarters, Building of Peace, in Tehran, discussing mutual cooperation, IRNA reported.

The two sides signed an MoU in humanitarian fields such as relief, volunteering and supporting needy people.

Soleimani expressed the IRCS’ readiness to cooperate with the German Red Cross in various fields such as aid workers training, adding that the society can share its experiences in the fields of Red Crescent Houses and volunteering services.

According to the IRCS chief, the Iranian Red Crescent provided COVID-19 vaccination for five million Afghan nationals living in Iran.

The German Red Cross Vice President hailed the service of the Iranian Red Crescent Society to foreign nationals and needy groups, expressing the German body’s readiness to cooperate with the Iranian Red Crescent in this regard.
