The Iranian Armed Forces will foil all wicked plots by the enemy, stressed a senior army commander.
“The enemies do not dare to perpetrate any act of aggression against the country’s soil”, added Deputy Chief of the Iranian Army for Coordination Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari in an address to a Saturday ceremony, Tasnim News Agency reported.
He added the cultures of sacrifice and martyrdom are among the outcomes of the uprising by Imam Hossein (PBUH), the third Imam of Shia Muslims, against oppressors, warning that in the absence of such a spirit and sacrifices, Iran couldn’t have ensured its present security and stability.
Rear Admiral Sayyari described security as a very valuable asset and an important target pursued by all countries and their peoples as part of efforts to safeguard their interests.
He said by imposing the eight-year war (1980-88) on Iran, the enemies sought to destroy the 1979 Islamic Revolution, a plot which was foiled thanks to the bravery and sacrifices of the country’s Armed Forces, including those of the army.
The commander added the enemy will in no way stop working toward its goal although it has realized how powerful the Iranian Armed Forces are, cautioning that it seeks to deal blows to the Islamic Republic through waging a soft war against the country.
Rear Admiral Sayyari added the enemy has become disappointed for inability to implement its anti-Iran plots thanks to God’s help, prudent and comprehensive guidelines of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and the people’s support.
