A total of 1,871 works from 112 countries were submitted to the secretariat of the 8th International Shahr (Urban) Film Festival.
India (336), Brazil (127), and Turkey (112) are the countries with the highest participating films in the event, IRNA wrote.
Several countries, including Maldives, Sudan, Burkina Faso, Benin, Cameron, Tanzania, and Senegal, will take part at the event with a single film.
This year’s festival, directed by Majid Akbarshahi, will be held in six sections.
The festival is regarded as one of Iran’s most prestigious international film festivals. It is organized every year under the auspices of Tasvire Shahr Institute at the Art and Cultural Organization of the Tehran Municipality.
Paying attention to the Iranian-Islamic culture, depicting cultural changes, developing urban infrastructure, facing crises and disasters, urban governance, establishing financial discipline and resource development, redefining citizens’ rights, sustainable development with a focus on natural and urban heritage protection, development and maintenance of green spaces, environmental protection and works related to the Iranian capital Tehran are the themes to be covered in the festival.
