The administration of President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi has exercised an active diplomacy by boosting Iran’s ties with its neighboring countries to neutralize U.S. sanctions, said a lawmaker.
Speaking to IRNA, Moslem Salehi, a member of the Iranian Parliament’s Economic Committee, added the country, thanks to the incumbent administration’s efforts, has signed good contracts with its neighbors, particularly the Persian Gulf littoral and the Central Asian states.
He said a successful foreign policy demands a smart outlook on its surrounding region, noting that any country’s foreign policy is shaped on the basis of its economic situation and national interests.
The lawmaker added the Iranian administration has not tied improvement of political and economic relations with other countries to the removal of the sanctions.
He praised the administration for releasing parts of Iran’s frozen assets in foreign banks, saying it was among the Foreign Ministry’s important measures aimed at conducting an active economic diplomacy.
