The formation of a joint security working group between Tehran and Dushanbe will help improve both sides’ safety, said a deputy Iranian interior minister.
Making the remarks in a Monday meeting with Tajik Interior Minister Rahimzoda Ramazon Hamro in Dushanbe, Majid Mir-Ahmadi added the move will also help eliminate threats posed by the enemies of the two countries, IRNA reported.
He highlighted Iran’s strong determination for the implementation of the previously signed agreements and orders by the two countries’ leaders to boost all-out ties.
Mir-Ahmadi added Tajikistan’s security is as important for Iran as that of the Islamic Republic, voicing Tehran’s readiness to provide Dushanbe with any assistance in this regard.
The Tajik minister also stressed the importance of implementing bilateral agreements, expressing his country’s readiness to expand relations with Iran in all fields, including the fight against terrorism, organized crimes and drug trafficking.
