Source: UK mulling restoration of trade ties with Iran

The spokesperson, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told IRNA that the UK supports the development of trade relations with the Islamic Republic.

The official said the British companies that do not have interests in the United States are not worried about the consequences of the backlash by Washington over the sanctions imposed on Iran, so they are increasingly eager to cooperate with Iran, ifpnews.com reported.

Britain is one of the parties to the Vienna talks to revive 2015 Iran nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

The annual trade volume between Iran and the UK is estimated at £180 million.
