An art exhibition titled ‘Nature from Reverse Glass Painters’ Perspective’ opened at Tehran’s Zarna Art Gallery in Tehran on Friday.
The show contains 60 works by 29 painters.
This art or method of painting is done on the back of a glass panel in which the details are done first so that the finished work may be seen correctly from the opposite side.
The exhibition is aimed at developing a thriving market for the technique of reverse glass works.
Curated by Saeid Rezakhan, the show displays the works of artists including Narges Olfati, Meysam Panahi, Atefeh Taqipour, Vida Haqshenas, Parnia Rezakhan and Bita Shakibi.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, works by brothers Amir and Behzad Naqqash are also on display, featuring teahouse painting.
This painting is an Iranian narrative painting style with epic, religious and festive themes from the early 1900s on the basis of Iranian folklore art traditions.
The exhibition will run through June 29.
