A bilingual book ‘The Water Aflame,’ containing selected poems of Persian poet Rumi, is now available in Iranian bookstores.

The book is a Persian-to-English translation of some poems of Rumi by Saeed Saeedpoor, ILNA wrote.

Tehran-based Nashr-e No Publications put the book in print in 207 pages.

The Persian words appear at the top and the English translations at the bottom of each page of the book so that the reader could see both in one page.

Persian poet, jurist, theologian and Sufi mystic, Jalaleddin Mohammad Balkhi, better known as Maulavi, Maulana, or Rumi, is one of the most famous Iranian poets.

Rumi was born to native Persian-speaking parents on the shores of the then Persian Empire on September 30, 1207 CE in the city of Balkh, which is now part of Afghanistan, and finally settled in the town of Konya, now in Turkey.
