The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran has placed on its agenda generation of 10,000 megawatts of nuclear electricity, said the AEOI chief.
Mohammad Eslami added the target has been set as per the emphasis laid by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on the issue and his frequent orders in that regard, Tasnim News Agency reported.
He said since the beginning of the current Iranian year, which started on March 21, the work has started to construct a 360-megawatt nuclear power plant using domestic capabilities.
Eslami invited all Iranian technology-based firms to join the project, which he described as very important for the country’s international status and technological development.
On Friday, Eslami traveled to Bushehr, southern Iran, to oversee the progress of the projects to construct units 2 and 3 of the province’s nuclear power plant.
