Two Iranian artists from the northwestern city of Tabriz wove a carpet with over 300 colors and content related to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The carpet measures 2 by 1.6 meters and was woven in a two-year period, said Reza Lamei who wove the carpet with his brother, IRNA wrote.

He also said that the carpet has over two million knots, depicting all the flags of 32 participating countries and all the symbols of the tournament, including the logos of host countries since 1930.

The carpet will be put on display during the international flagship soccer event.

The carpet designer Jalali said that it took six months to design the work.

In 2018, seven exquisite hand-knotted Persian carpets commemorating the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia were on display in the northwestern Iranian city of Tabriz.
