Iran to compete at Turkey Qur’an contest

Iran will send two representatives to the 8th International Holy Qur’an Contest in neighboring Turkey.

Vahid Khazaei and Hossein Khani will represent Iran in recitation and memorization categories, respectively at the Turkish contest, Mehr News Agency reported.

The preliminary stage of the event is set to be held virtually while the final stage will be held in person.

The event is organized by the Directorate of Religious Affairs (Diyanet).

The seventh edition was held in 2019 and the event experienced a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mojtaba Mohammadbeigi and Saeed Shahrokhi represented Iran in the seventh edition of the Qur’anic event.
