The Islamic Republic’s Air Defense Force will unveil missiles with a range of 300 kilometers in the near future in line with the Armed Forces’ efforts to achieve complete self-sufficiency in terms of deterrence power, said the force’s commander.
Deputy Commander of Iran's Air Defense Force Brigadier General Alireza Elhami made the remarks in an address to a gathering of the country’s Armed Forces on Sunday, noting that increasing the Islamic Republic’s missile capabilities is a requisite for developing the country’s deterrence might and guarding national interests, iribnews.ir reported.
He warned against being dependent on any other state in the field of strategic issues, saying becoming more powerful in all sectors, particularly the military and defense area, is the only way to overcome the sanctions and threats.
The commander stressed that developing the country’s missile power is a symbol of Iran’s self-confidence and reliance on domestic capabilities.
He said having manufactured entirely homegrown radars with a range of 3,000 kilometers and different kinds of drones capable of flying at an altitude of over 47,000 feet, the Iranian Air Defense Force has absolute dominance over the country’s borders and can instantly monitor any movements.
Brigadier General Elhami gave the assurance that any enemy mistake will receive a crushing response from the Islamic Republic.
