Minister: NTBFs to be relocated in industrial parks

The Iranian minister of industry, mine and trade announced on Sunday that nearly 1,600 plants are being constructed in industrial parks for new technology-based firms (NTBFs).

On the sidelines of his visit to the Exhibition of Export Capabilities of Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Tehran, Seyyed Reza Fatemi Amin said: “We must move towards the export of technology-based products and increase their share in the country’s exports,” ILNA reported.

There are about 570 NTBFs located in industrial zones of the country, noted the minister adding that, more startups are showcasing their products in the exhibition.

“Normally, an NTBF starts its work in a small-sized laboratory, but gradually it has to start production, but because the startups do not have required capital to to prepare land and build their plant, we have allocated the needed plants for their activities in our industrial parks,” he said.

The Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has devised a market for the supply of machinery and equipment, which will be launched soon, Fatemi Amin added.

The four-day exhibition will wrap up on Wednesday.
